How NoCode Is Unlocking EdTech Innovation, in Latin America and Beyond

When a leading social enterprise in Latin America decided to launch a new career development platform for women, it chose a no-code agency to quickly deliver a custom solution. Educational tech (EdTech) platform Laboratoria has helped thousands of women join the digital economy since 2014, by offering intensive training in front-end web development and UI/UX design to female learners across Latin America. In 2022, Laboratoria turned to Kreante, the region’s first no-code agency, to co-develop its new platform Laboratoria+ .

The site was up and running in two months, demonstrating the power of no-code tools to rapidly build high-quality, bespoke digital products. With a seamless, user-friendly interface, Laboratoria+ features online courses, an events page, a career toolkit, a community page, and a platform for booking one-on-one mentoring sessions.

How did Kreante do it?

The company built the site using Bubble , a venture-backed platform that allows customers to create powerful web apps without writing code. In contrast with traditional programming, where developers type lines of code into text documents, Bubble enables users to design pages and create complex application logic with point-and-click visual editors. And unlike website builders like WordPress, Bubble gives users complete control over their applications’ design and flow.

Bubble is one of many no-code and low-code platforms that are revolutionizing app development. While low-code development uses intuitive graphical interfaces to cut programming to a minimum, no-code goes a step further by offering a completely code-free solution. Both types of platforms are gaining popularity as more organizations look to streamline and accelerate app development.

According to a Forrester survey, 87% of enterprise developers already use low-code platforms for at least some of their development work. The advantages in terms of time, cost, and ease of use can be massive. No-code and low-code platforms allow organizations to launch apps (much) sooner, make changes faster, and slash costs by avoiding the need to hire an in-house engineering team. They also democratize software development, empowering startups, small businesses, and organizations with limited resources to build and launch enterprise-grade apps. Kreante is part of this emerging revolution, with a track record of over 100 projects worldwide and a client roster that includes sporting goods giant Decathlon, Schneider Electric, the French government, and Peru’s largest insurance firm. The company’s team of around 25 people delivers customized solutions with an average development time of between four and six weeks, enabling rapid launch, efficient iterations, and controlled budgeting.

In addition to the Laboratoria+ platform, Kreante also used Bubble to develop Kaudal , another Laboratoria spinoff which helps employees become automators. The idea for Kaudal was born when Laboratoria’s founders noticed that employees lose 700+ hours per year (one-third of their time) doing manual and repetitive automatable tasks at work. Kaudal’s aim is to turn employees into automators - employees who are capable of independently automating tasks in their role

Kreante’s EdTech clients also include iconoClass , a French bootcamp that provides business development and sales training. The comprehensive EdTech platform, which has over 5,500 users, is another example of how no-code solutions are transforming the educational sector. No-code development enabled Kreante’s team to create a robust, scalable, and resource-rich platform that stands out in a crowded market within three months.

Founded in Lima, Peru, and led by Jorge Del Carpio, Kreante is spreading the word about the power of no-code with Kreante Academy, which leverages online learning to teach no-code development skills in Latin America. The company sees growing demand for its services internationally as more organizations discover that no-code development can improve their agility, empower their employees, and unlock time and cost savings.
